Acupressure Points To Help Pain In Your Arms And Hands

Acupressure Points To Help Pain In Your Arms And Hands

Regardless of age, pain in the arms, and hands is a common issue for many people. While most people take care of the problem with a pain relief ointment or simply power through the pain, these things only offer relief temporarily. What they don’t do is take care of the underlying reason for the pain in your hands or arms.

No matter what is causing this pain, addressing and treating it is crucial to prevent further issues. Acupressure is one way to do this that offers quick results without giving you any of the side effects associated with painkillers.

ACUPRESSURE TO TREAT PAIN IN THE WRIST

Several acupressure points can help with wrist pain associated with arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, or injuries. Manipulating these areas can help address the issues while bringing you quick and easy relief.

  • TW5 – Triple Warmer5 involves the two points on the outer area of the forearm between the bones in the arm. You can find it about two to three fingertip widths above the wrist joint. Stimulating this area can help with tendonitis, wrist pain, and rheumatism.
  • P6 – Pericardium6 also offers pain relief for nausea, carpal tunnel syndrome, and wrist pain. It’s located on the inner area of the forearm about two finger-widths above your wrist crease. Working in this area can also help with headaches, motion sickness, and digestive disorders.
  • P7 – Pericardium7 is also called “the Great Mound,” and is found in the inner middle side of the wrist crease. It can be manipulated for thumb and wrist pain, such as rheumatism, tendinitis, and carpal tunnel syndrome. It can also help with post-menopausal issues such as hot flashes.

APPLYING ACUPRESSURE FOR ARM PAIN

Arm pain is a common issue for those who are active regularly and can be present in the upper arm and forearm. It can cause extreme pain, numbness, or stiffness. However, the pain can be alleviated by using acupressure on specific points.

  • TW15 – Triple Warmer15 is a shoulder pressure point that is at the top of the shoulder right between the neck and the shoulder’s edge. Applying pressure to this point can relieve stiffness in the shoulders, upper arms, and neck. It also helps with improving lung function, reducing nervous tension, and helping resist fever and cold.
  • LU9 – Lung9 is another acupressure point that helps with arm and elbow pain that is on the wrist crease in line with your thumb. This area can help treat wrist and arm pain down the meridian. It is also helpful for treating palpitations, asthma, breathing issues, and cough.
  • P3 – Preicardium3 is an essential pressure point for pain from arthritis and can also be called “Marsh at the Bend.” It is found on the ulnar side of the brachii of the biceps in the sloping crease of your elbow. It is most helpful for tremors in the arms and hand, but can also help with symptoms of vomiting, Parkinson’s disease, and other gastrointestinal disorders.

You can stimulate any of these points with your hands or a device to relieve the pain you are experiencing in your hands, arms, or other places. This can prevent the need for pain killers or other medications so you can go on with your day without pain and discomfort.
